May 17   Marlins 17  Pirates 15

The Marlins jumped out to a commanding 13-2 lead as John Casparriello
(3 hits, 3 RBI, 3 Runs) and Jacob May (4 Runs) got it started at the top of the
order.  The big hit came from Nick Markley who had a bases clearing double in
the 2nd. The Pirates well held down by good pitching from May until they erupted
for 5 in the 3rd.  Mark Smith, Connor Smith (3 RBI), and Michael Dreske (2 RBI)
all singled and scored in the inning.  The Marlins continued to score in every inning
as Nick Bertazzoni, Gabriel Roman, and Matthew Ingalls all reached base and scored.
The Pirates were kept off the board in the 4th thanks to the battery of Drew Maguire and
Tyler Webb who combined to catch 2 Pirates trying to steal home.  Connor Smith
pitched a great inning plus when he struck out 3 Marlins in a row.  The Pirates
kept fighting and scored 8 in the last 2 innings to make it interesting. Sam
Stallings, Simon Ringham, Zack Murray, and Mark Smith all reached base and
scored.  But the Ma rlins had too much too early and held on for the victory.
