May 17   Brewers 8   Cubs 1

The Cubs and Brewers played a game under sunny skies on Saturday
afternoon.  Thanks to some good pitching by the Brewers, they were able to shut
down the strong Cubs lineup and win the game 8-1.

The Brewers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 2nd, with back to back hits by
Jordan Kelley and Tommy Callanan knocking in Erin Hennessy and Colin Mullane,
who both had singled earlier in the inning.  The Cubs answered with one in the
3rd, with a leadoff double by Jack Flynn leading to a run when was moved to third on
 a hit by Aidan Thorsteinsson and then scored on a hit by Steve Buckley.  The Brewers
 scored one in the 3rd, when Brandon Marino scored, and then the bats came alive in the 5th and 6th,
with 5 runs to put the close game out of reach.  Mullane and Kelley scored in
the 5th, and Alec Catalini, Sean Spencer, and Hennessey all scoring in the 6th. 

The game had strong defense and good pitching.  Showing some strong glove work
by the Cubs were Darwin Anderson, Ryan Nagle, Pat Donahue, and Cal White. 
Chipping in with hits were Owen Thorsteinsson and Matt Goulian.  The Cubs used
six pitchers who all threw well. They were Garrett Fogarty, Jack Flynn, Justin
Smith, Matt Kruse, Aidan Thotsteinsson, and Steve Buckley.

The Brewers were led by James Talbot with three hits.  Dan Broderick, Kelley, 
Mullane, and Callanan all had two, and Alec Catalini, Saoirse Connolly, and
Hennessey all chipped in with a hit as well.  The Brewers hurlers were Broderick
(2 innings), Callanan, and Talbot.
