April 25 Major Phillies 4 Braves 1
The Major League Phillies took on the ever tough Braves with Michael Luciano getting the nod on the mound. In the first the Braves couldn’t capitalize on a single by Cam Hickey. The Phillies couldn’t take advantage of a single by Derek Packard in the second or in the third after walks to Michael Dreske and Kevin Burns. The only chink in Luciano armor came in the third as the Braves Matt Brown launched a solo homer to put his team up 1-0. Luciano shook it off and shut down the Braves offense the rest of the game. The Braves pitcher Matt Murphy was cruising until the fourth when the Phillies got on the board with 3 runs on hits by Luciano, Packard and Cory Bright and walks to Jack Aylward and Burns. The Phillies scored another run in the fifth as Alex Dervartanian singled and Bright knocked him in. The Braves defense was backed by Kevin Perperian, Oscar Cardoso, Billy Kaliris and Brian Senier. The Braves Brendan Hennessey, Jared Bernis and Frankie Spada hit the ball hard. The Phillies defense was anchored by Sean Connolly behind the plate, John Caspariello and Sean Donovan. Luciano went the distance for his club and amassed 14 strikeouts enroute to a 4-1 victory.
