Minor Phillies-8 vs. Minor Braves-3

The Phillies and Braves kicked off the Minor league season on Saturday afternoon. The Phillies sent Cory Bright to the hill and the Braves countered with Ace Nicholas Chan. Bright shut out the Braves into the 3rd inning handing the ball to Jared Crowell. Chan scattered 11 hits and 8 runs over 4 innings of work. Bright and Crowell led the offense with multi-hit games. Daniel Cunningham, Connor Smith, Sean Prendergrast, Ryan Clancy, Darwin Anderson and Garrett Fogarty collected huge hits for the Phillies. Darren and Justin Parker collected the lone Braves base hits. The Braves defense was stellar as Matt Starek, Conor Allwood, Jay Tucci, Justin Smith, Steven Stromski, Matt Ingalls and Ryan Pasco tossed the leather around. Michael Polcari, Luke Van Veen, Saoirse Connolly and Billy Muzerol played great defense for the Phillies.
